A lot of the media is geared towards young adults. It isn't just the celebrities that are influencing us. It is the people involved in advertising, spending millions to make their product look good. They are finding ways to make expensive boring clothes look great. Advertisers are finding good looking people to wear their clothes. Youth respond to visual advertising more so than others. You might here an ad for a hat on the radio, but you can't see the photo of how you would look in it. Then, you might see this new hat on a commercial worn by a young good looking person singing and dancing to their ipod. Then, you associate that hat with having fun; making you want to buy it.
